lARGE INTESTINE MERIDIAN

 

 

 

The Large Intestine Meridian also known as LI starts on LI 1 on the thumb side of index finger behind the nail. It runs along the arm and up to the face and ends on the outside of the nostril.

 

LI 4- Location: At the base of the V that forms between the index finger and thumb. 

 

This point is a very powerful point and used for overall wellbeing. A main point in treating headaches, stimulate the immune system, toothaches, constipation, and general pain in the thumb. 

 

Caution: Do not use this point during pregnancy

 

LI 10- Location: 2 cun down the arm from LI 11.

 

This point is used in treatment of tennis elbow, stomach and intestinal pain. Can be used for Indigestion and Diarrhea as well.

 

LI 11- Location: At the outer end of the elbow crease when the arm is flexed.

 

This point is used for fever associated with cold and flu symptoms, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and high blood pressure.

 

 

Function of the Large Intestine:  Transforms digestive waste from liquid to solid form and transports outward to exit through the rectum. It plays a huge role in the balance and purity of bodily fluids. Also assists the lungs in the control of perspiration and the skins pores.
